Alpoy

Alpoy is a great free way to create an avatar (on-line picture that represents you) for your various social networks.  The site is easy to use and allows you to crop pictures quickly to capture your face or even allows you to add several pictures that it will animate for you into a .gif file.  Since most sites these days ask for a picture, this is a quick, fun, and easy way to create just the right one.
